On Sunday we went to the Twins/Cubs game with Byron and Paula. The Twins lost of course. Byron is seriously cursed. He has never seen the team he was rooting for win. Very sad.
Sunday night we had massive thunderstorm. The rain was just pouring, the lightening was flashing and the tornado sirens were a blarin'. Of course our satellite went out, then our internet and than the lights. Really?
Yesterday was a rough day at work. After work 4 hours two weeks ago, then 2 days last week, the thought of working a full week seems daunting...so I'm taking a half day on Friday. :-)
All weekend I kept asking Eric, "Are you sure you don't have anything due?" (I'm starting to sound like my grandma.) He assured me that he didn't not. Well, I accidentally went into his school's email account (it is through gmail and I was trying to get to my gmail account). I was surprised to see that his teacher sent him an email asking where his paper was. When I saw this email I was angry. How could he miss a paper??? So when he came home from his soccer game at 9:15 pm, I had to be the bearer of bad news. He flipped out and I saw a look I've never seen in Eric's eyes before...FEAR! I calmed him down and after 2 hours of writing and typing, we finished his 4 pages paper and submitted it to his teacher. Pretty impressive if you ask me...I'm taking some of the credit. If I wouldn't have accidentally went into his email account, he would never know that there was a paper due because he never checks his school email. I have fixed that too. I now get a forwarded copy of all his school emails. I'm starting to be like a mother but he needs to stay on top of his work!
Yes Eric, you did have a paper due last night

Well today was a very busy day. It started early this morning when Byron and Paula arrived...ok so it was 12:10 am but it was still this morning!
We headed to Valleyfair around 10am and after a little snafu with our season passes, we finally got into the park. We hit most of the rollercoasters like Wild Thing, Mad Mouse, Renegade and Excalibur (just like my hotel last week. Paula and I went on the Looping Starship...the boys were wimps. We spent the rest of the afternoon in the waterpark. We did the huge 4-person slide twice, the small tube ride, a slide and the wave pool. Lazy river was closed for some reason. :(
We meet Greg, Celeste and Evelyn for dinner at Applebees. I had the most nutritious Triple Chocolate Meltdown. Let's be realistic, it was really hot all day and I wasn't hungry so I had what I really wanted. Yum!
After dinner they all hung around our house until 7:30 when we went back to Valleyfair to ride the rest of the rides we missed. We started with Enterprise, Steel Venom, Corkscrew, High Roller and Power Tower. We finished the night with Wild Thing. As we went up to the 206 feet summit, we got the best view of the fireworks. It was awesome; the view from the top was the best.

I love 2 day work weeks. Tuesday was my "Monday" and Wednesday was my "Friday." But next week is going to be tough. 5 days. I don't know if I can do that. LOL!
Wednesday after work we went down to Mankato for Beth's Graduation Party. The menu included waffles, root beer floats and cake. It was good. Danielle even came by for some food. It was nice to see her again. We got home around 10.
We took Thursday off. Swirl had to go to the vet for dental work. That was an expensive bill...ouch! And now we have to pill him for the next 10 days. Oh that is so much fun. Eric wraps him in a blanket and picks him up then I try to stuff the pill in his mouth without getting my fingers bit. I'm not sure who has the harder job.
Beth's graduation was last night too. After we got home from the vet, we drove down to DJ's house to meet the rest of the family. Eric's parents came to town for the graduation. The ceremony was outside and shocking was only an hour long since there was over 230 in her class. It is amazing. I got some good pictures.

Since my last post, I’ve been busy and didn’t have internet access. :(
We came home from Atlanta on Wednesday. I worked Thursday for 4 hours and then I went to the airport for the second trip. The flight to Vegas was uneventful. I sat in first class and watch We Bought a Zoo movie. It was cute. I got my bag, rented the car and headed to Target for birthday gifts. I stopped at In and Out Burger and then went to the Excalibur. Not too exciting of a night. I was by myself the first night so I was lonely. I was in bed by 8:30 and asleep by 9.
I woke up early Friday morning and went to the airport to pick up Samantha. Her flight got in at 7am. I drove her down the Strip so she could see all the cool hotels and then I took her out to Red Rock Canyon. We did the scenic drive and even did some hiking in the rocks. It was fun. We stopped at Target so she could pick some things and we waited at the hotel until Carrie’s flight arrived.
After picking up Carrie, we went straight to Hoover Dam. It was just as cool as it was in December but the temperature was not. It was 120 degrees down there. HOT! We went back to the hotel and went swimming, then In and Out Burger (again) and cruised the strip. We walked down to the Luxor and Mandalay Bay and then headed to Bellagio for the dancing waters and then made our way back to the Excalibur. It was quite a long walk.
Saturday we started out at the Rio for the longest buffet. After that we checked out the M&M World and Coke World. Samantha and I rode the New York, New York Rollercoaster. We drove down to the Mirage and went for a gondola ride at the Venetian, had dinner at the Palazzo and watched the flaming volcano at the Mirage.
Sunday we packed up Samantha and drove first to the Welcome to Las Vegas sign and then to Pahrump for the birthday party for Allista, Gerald and William. They had it at this Bounce place with indoor bouncing stuff. It was fun. We hung out at the house after that until we had to leave to take Samantha to the airport. After that Carrie and I just stayed around the Excalibur. She had an early, early morning flight so we didn’t do too much.
Monday I dropped Carrie off at the airport at 5am and went back to the hotel and slept another couple hours. After I checked out, I meet a friend of mine that I used to work with who was also in Vegas. I met her and her friend at the Caesar’s Palace. It is so beautiful inside there! It was nice to see her again. After lunch, I high tailed it back to the rental car place and back to the airport for my flight home. While in security I was chatting with this nice guy from Newark, NJ and he asked me to join him in the United’s club. Free food, internet and comfy chairs…heck ya! I watched Joyful Noise and had a great meal and before I knew I was back in MSP. It was so nice to be home and in my own bed again.
