Eat
One of my New Year’s Resolutions was to eat out less, cook more and eat healthier. So far, I’m doing pretty good. Well on the first two, the eating healthier is still a challenge. The problem is all the things I know how to cook are also not very healthy. ARGH! Last weekend I made my delicious lasagna and chili. During the week, I made parmesan herb crusted chicken breasts with mashed potatoes and a ham and cheese quiche. We have had a lot of sandwiches and leftovers too. But we really haven’t eaten out much at all. Yay! I have been trying to eat healthy snacks…I’ve been eating a lot of apples, raspberries, bananas, pretzels and nuts. However, I also made chocolate chip cookie dough so that is my failure. I’m a sucker for warm cookies. Haha!

Sleep
Normally sleep isn’t an issue with me but the first nine days of the year were interesting. The first two nights of the year, I woke up at 2:30am and couldn’t get back to sleep. It really sucked. After the second night, I bought some melatonin which I think helped me sleep the third night. I took that for the next couple days and slept just fine. I thought my sleeping problem was done so I didn’t take it and bam, another 2:30am wake up call. I have to say, I watched some interesting tv at that time of day, including a PBS show on Welsh Sheepdogs. LOL! Knock on wood, I haven’t had any issues since.

Work
If you know me, you know this time of year just sucks. Work is busy with year end reporting. So far it is going well, I’ve been trying to get ahead of stuff since I can’t work this weekend. My crisis week is still coming though…so we will see how I am around Super Bowl time.

Run
I’ve been doing well in this department. I have run 9 days (out of 15) and had 1 brisk walk. Run Streak Wednesday is my goal this year. I want to run every Wednesday. I haven’t missed a Wednesday yet! (Well there have only been two). Hehe. I’m in the beginning stages of training for Grandma’s Marathon in June. Right now, I’m doing 4 runs a week between 3 and 5 miles. This weekend is supposed to be 6 miles but I have my brother’s wedding so I’m not sure I’m going to get it in. Eek!
