Friday night we had the opportunity to babysit Blake for the evening. I have to say we tuckered him out but he knocked us out too. I went home early from work and met Danielle and Bradley at my house. I had to watch him by myself for 2 hours before Eric got home. I'm not great with kids his age but I did pretty good. We played with his train set, we watched Mickey Mouse's Clubhouse and ate Cheez-its. He is a very good sharer. One for me, one for him. And then when the bowl got down to the bottom he would take a bite and hand the other half to me. LOL!
I made pizza for dinner. Apparently that didn't go over too well.....
When Eric got home we got ready for the Aquatic center at the Community Center. At first he wasn't sure about it. He really didn't like it. But then we took him down the slide and he was sold. We were there for almost 2 hours. We shot basketballs, played with the water cannons, threw a ball around and went down the slide...a lot. It was a lot fun. We had no problem putting him to bed. And shortly after we crashed in bed too...at 9:30pm on a Friday night. LOL!
The next morning we meet Terry and Dawn (Bradley's parents), Mom and Betty Jane at Perkins in Bloomington. We had a great breakfast. Blake was having fun with a lemon.
After breakfast we went to IKEA. I wanted a new book shelf. We killed a lot of time there. I found my bookcase I wanted in the "As Is" section for $22 less and it was already put together. A double win!!! I'm super happy.
We went to the MOA for a few rides before heading home for the night.
It was a great Leap Day

February has been surprising busy...and not just work.
We ran the Valentines' Day 5K on Saturday the 8th. The weekend before was 40 degrees and beautiful, but on the 8th...it was bitterly cold. Of course! Argh. The race was tough as I haven't trained well this winter.
I celebrated another 5K race by making Monster Cookies on Sunday. Obviously they have Valentines' Day M&Ms. I have to suck up to my new floor mates (my team moved to the 22nd floor in December).
I struggle with cooking steak. I always fill the house with smoke, the smoke detectors go off and I get frustrated. The outside is always burned and the inside is rare. But, I successfully made steak the other day. I was so excited! Swirl thought he should have some too but I ate it all. This is the look I got when I told him "No steak for you!"
My mom has been having car troubles. She needed a new one ASAP so we met her in Eau Claire to test drive some cars. We test drove one car and she liked it a lot. It had a heated steering wheel! I love mine so I can see why she wanted it. The only thing is it isn't red. :( Oh well, the blue color is pretty.
We rushed home from the dealer for the Annual KC Gala. It was ok. The food was fine...but why did they have two types of fish. I complain about this every year. Haha!
The next morning Malcolm was lounging around the house. This is how he crashed.
It was a successfully couple of weekends.

The annual District Band Festival was Monday Night. It was fun as always. So how it works is multiple bands from Eden Prairie School District come together in the high school gym for a joint concert. It starts with 5th graders through 12th grade and then us old timers. We played Jump in the Line...which if you have seen Beetlejuice you should recognize it. We also played Stars and Stripes Forever with the entire group. 400 kids playing Sousa...yikes! This is all from the trombone perspective. enjoy!
