October was a fairly busy month! Eric's niece and our flower girl, Allista and her husband Bailey, moved to Eagan from Montana on October 11th. We stopped by on our way home from work to help them move into their apartment. It is a nice place and their dogs and cat are very friendly.
We went to to Sever's corn maze on Saturday, Oct 14th. It was just the two of us. It was a bit cold and windy. The maze was very well trodden and the corn definitely didn't grow very well this year. We saw the animal show and the pig races but we didn't get in the corn pit! :(
The next day we went to the Archer's corn maze in Kasota. We dragged Allista and Bailey and met Danielle, Bradley, Blake, Carter, DJ and Anna there. It is definitely smaller than Sever's but it is only their second year. Their maze isn't like Sever's there is no map and no guide post to get you through. There were some "hints" along the way but it was a challenge. Blake was our leader so...well you can only guess. :) This festival is cheaper and has free activities that for kids like bounce house, mini golf and a tiny corn pit. We went to Jake's Pizza for dinner on our way home. It was a fun day!
Eric and I enjoyed a great meal at Chanhassen Dinner Theatre and the musical Jersey Boys last Thursday. It was amazing. Two weekend ago we ran, well sort of ran, the Hot Cider Hustle 5K. The weather was pretty nice and the race was actually larger than I expected. Only problem is we started on a narrow path and groups of people walking blocked the entire path so I couldn't get through. I tried to run the best I could and actually ran more than I thought I would. I have been dealing with a nasty flare of my plantar fasciitis so I wasn't expecting much. My time wasn't horrible but wasn't great either...46 mins. At the finish line we got apple cider and caramel apples. It was delicious. Reba was proud to display the medal.
We ran out of time and finally got around to carving our pumpkins on Sunday. I did a cat and a ghost.
This morning we woke up to snow! UGH! Great start to Halloween. It was very cold too. That didn't deter the Trick-or-treaters. We had about 25-30. Reba and Finn got into the act.
