Finn and Reba Update

Stillwater Log Run 12K

Today we ran the Stillwater Log Run 12K. I finished DFL (aka dead fucking last). But I don't care. There were only 103 people who ran the race. There was a 10 mile race too so I didn't feel lonely as I was passed by 150 people. Hahaha!  My miles were pretty consistent if there wasn't an uphill. Mile 7 was the fastest but it was mostly downhill. My last half mile into the finish was on pace to be faster than Mile 7. That's pretty good for me. I'm still not ready for the Twin Cities 10 Mile in two weeks.

My training hasn't been great because my knee pain came back. :(

MMA and Hermanfest

Monday, September 12, 2022

We had a busy weekend. We started out Friday driving to Austin, MN to watch Bryce (Abbie's husband) fight in an MMA fight. It was an interest, late night. Here is Bryce in the ring.

The next day was Hermanfest in New Ulm. The kids joined us for the event. The NU municipal band plays with the NU Battery. They fire really civil war cannons!  How cool is that?!?

After the concert we stuck around for the fireworks over the Herman statue. It was a fun evening!

Sunday we had yet another Twins game.

Valleyfair with Family

Sunday, September 4, 2022

We have made several trips to Valleyfair this year. Once with Mike, Linda and Alec, once with Carrie and kids, once with Nancy and Greg and twice with Danielle and Blake. Blake is definitely Danielle's kids. And quite a few with DJ.

MN State Fair 2022

Friday, September 2, 2022

We went to the Minnesota State Fair twice this year. The first time we went with Mike, Linda and Alec. We met Nancy, Greg and Blake at the Hamline Dinner where Eric always gets his Chicken Dinner from the church ladies. After that we headed to the Mighty Midway for rides but first Alec and Blake went down the Giant Yellow Slide.

Next stop was the Miracle of Life to see some babies and the animal barns.

Finally we made it to the Mighty Midway.

After about 3 hours we decided to see other things at the fair so we headed towards O'Gara's for pretzel crusted cheese curds and Rueben Bits. But first Mike had to stop for a Leinie's.

There were quite a few things that we didn't get to do with the family so Eric and I went to the Fair afterwork on Thursday.
On the bus to the State Fair

Our first stop was to try the new food, Tot Dog. A hot dog crusted in tater tots and fried. YUM!

Next stop was a Roasted Corn on the cob and some 1919 root beer. After that we headed to the Agriculture Building to see the Giant pumpkins.

Then we walk through the Education and Fine Arts buildings. Sadly, the Education building wasn't like it used to be. :(  We saw some awesome art.

We stopped in the Eco Experience and was excited they brought back the Bingo for Buffs. So Eric and I walked around and got our bingo cards stamped and got our free Buffs. They are purple this year. We saw an electric Ford 150.

It was a great year for the Fair. I can't wait for next year!

Twins Games

Thursday, September 1, 2022

We had a busy August with Twins games. I went to 9 games and 2 of them were in LA!

Here were my seats for my work outing to the Twins game. It was so stinking hot and we were in the sun. They view wasn't great but we got close to Kepler. :)

My next game was Hall of Fame day. I got a Dan Gladden Hat. Eric had a soccer game so I went with Bill, Alice and Mary Linda. It was fun!

The next game was on the next Saturday. Mike, Linda and Alec joined us. I got VIP parking so it was a sweet perk because we automatically got a bobblehead and didn't have to come super early. Alec and Eric went to the MN Loons game first so they met us at the stadium. They didn't get a bobblehead.

The last game of August we got upgraded to the lower section. I have a picture of our seats and then our upgrade. This was the last game that Mary Linda came to with us as she went back to Phoenix in the morning.
